Choral Scholarships

The Schola Cantorum offers three different types of scholarships for young singers, as part of its educational remit.

Junior Choral Scholars are second level students who sing in the Collegiate Church Choir and receive a small honorarium for doing so. Many holders of these scholarships began their singing careers as choristers of the Schola Cantorum.

University of Galway Choral Scholars are students who sing the service of Compline several times each semester and are awarded scholarships by the city’s university.

Collegiate Choral Scholars are talented third level students who sing both with the Collegiate Church Choir and with the university choral scholars and receive a generous stipend. Student singers considering pursuing third level studies in Galway and who are interested in these scholarships should contact the Organist Mark Duley here.
