Our mission: to delight\, challenge and inspire\naudiences with area choral premieres\, perform new arrangements of classic songs\, offer\nvisually engaging performances\, and support the education of youth. Our repertoire\nshows an enormous variety of musical periods and styles thanks to the creative direction\nof Dr. Ralph Edward Hughes. \n  \nDr. Ralph Hughes\nDr. Ralph Edward Hughes\, Conductor of the Sacramento Master Singers since 1986\, is widely known for innovative and engaging programming. Under his leadership\, SMS has become a professional-caliber chamber choir that has a unique ability to connect with its ever- growing audience on an emotional level. \nHughes has a Doctoral Degree in Conducting from the University of South Carolina and a\nMaster’s in Choral Conducting from CSUS. From 1990 until 2021\, he taught choir\, voice\, and piano at American River College. Hughes is a member of the California Music Educators Association\, the American Choral Director’s Association\, and the International Federation for Choral Music. Dr. Hughes has a deep love of multicultural music and programming designed to stimulate wide interest\, especially among young people. He participates regularly in the World Symposium on Choral Music\, bringing new works from some of planet’s leading choral directors and composers home to Sacramento and introducing them to our Sacramento audiences. \n  \nNatsuki Fukasawa\nSteinway Artist Natsuki Fukasawa has performed globally including in\nAustralia\, Brazil\, China\, Israel\, throughout Scandinavia and many U.S. A. cities including\nNew York’s Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall. She is a recipient of the Best Chamber\nMusic Recording of the Year from the Danish Music Awards. She has performed\nas a concerto soloist touring Italy and in the U. S. A.\, and has been featured in CapRadio’s\nWomen’s History Month. \n  \nScott Pool\nScott Pool serves as Academy Director of the Talis Music Festival & Academy\nand as Associate Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. A\nresident of south Texas\, Scott is a frequent recitalist with appearances at numerous\nfestivals in addition to solo engagements. Recognized as a Moosmann Artist\,\nScott’s performances have taken him throughout the Americas\, Europe and Asia\,\nprogramming both standard repertoire and new compositions. As an avid\nproponent of new music\, Scott has played an active role in the commission and/or\npremiere of over 50 new works by both established and emerging contemporary\ncomposers. Published recordings as soloist can be heard on Alone: Unaccompanied\nMusic for Solo Bassoon (2020) and Vocalise (2013). DESCRIPTION:Friday Sept 12\nDoors 6pm\, sit down 6:30 pm\nTickets are €45 per person from www.galwayclimatefestival.ie\n3 course meal\, served family style at a long table pop up\n\nJoin us in the medieval splendour of S. Nicholas’s church for The Féasta harvest banquet ! The premise is simple; everything on the table must come from Galway County or Galway Bay\, sourced as locally and sustainably as possible. Some of Ireland’s leading culinary lights – guided by Michelin starred Chef Enda McEvoy – will be cooking up a storm and showcasing inspirational ways in which simple\, seasonal and quality fare can be elevated into a mouthwatering feast! Food is sourced from the Community gardens and allotments in Galway City and farms in the Hinterland of the City. There will be music\, story telling and a full bar for a night to remember! \nTickets include; a welcome drink\, fabulous meal and live entertainment. Wine\, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFéasta is curated by Hinterland\, a new social enterprise aiming to connect food\, people and place. Hinterland was established by Galway chef Enda McEvoy\, producer Claire Davey and farmer Fergal Anderson to create innovative solutions for a just\, equitable\, healthy and sustainable food system. DESCRIPTION:A Jubilee of Hope pilgrim walk to seven holy places in Galway City\, taking place on Saturday 13 September 2025. The seven destinations are: \n\nGalway Cathedral\nThe Franciscan Abbey\, St Francis Street\nSt Nicholas’ Collegiate Church\nThe Augustinian Church\, St Augustine Street\nSt Mary’s Dominican Church\, Claddagh\nThe Joseph’s Church\, Presentation Road\nThe Poor Clare Monastery\, Nuns’ Island\n\nParticipants begin their walk at the Cathedral at any time from 12:00 noon onwards\, where they receive a booklet to be stamped at each destination. At the end of the walk they return to the Cathedral (before 5:30pm) to receive a certificate of completion. \nThe walk is self-directed.
