DESCRIPTION:Esker Festival 2026 – Orchestral Masterworks – Brahms | Copland | Smyth\nSaint Nicholas’ Collegiate Church Galway \nTuesday 18 August 2026\, at 20:00 \nOrchestral Masterworks by Brahms\, Copland and Ethel Smyth. \nThe Esker Festival Orchestra presents a concert of rustic orchestral Masterworks including Johannes’ Brahms serene 2nd Symphony\, Aaron Copland’s ground-breaking ballet suite to Appalachian Spring and Ethel Smyth’s rousing Overture to her opera The Boatswain’s Mate. \nThe 60 piece orchestra will present these works in the beautiful surrounds and acousitc of St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church Galway under the baton of Artistic Director Peter Joyce and Esker Festival Assistant Conductor Véronique Bernar. \nDuration: 70 minutes with a short interval \nTickets: €30/€15 \nwww.eskerfestivalorchestra.com/events \nThere are a limited number of Festival Passes available for €60 which give access to all Galway events\, as well as and exclusive performance by members of the Esker Festival Orchestra on Friday August 21st.
